Where did you buy your Bory? How long did it take? Why did you choose this purchase method?

My Bory was gift from my boyfriend on my birthday last year.
I ordered her myself thou. From Luts website
She arrived almost exactly on my birthaday, it took Luts around month to send her out.
I wanted to be sure that it’s purely new. Few months before, I got my Blanchet, real skin normal, and she yellowed very awfully withing few months. I didn’t want the same thing to happen to my Bory, so it had to be new (I keep her in a box :< ).

Why did you choose Bory?(What factored in your decision to choose it? Like was it it’s skintone, body, posing, and so on?)

I chose Bory mainly because of the sweet and sad face mold. I especially loved Luts’ pictures of her in whiteskin. Gorgeous face up! It made my heart beat faster. For me, Bory of all other Kid Delfs is most curious and original. I chose her in whiteskin, mostly because I had normal skin alreay (yellowed badly but still ).

What parts of your Bory do you find different from the company’s photo’s/information on Bory’s?(For example, do it’s eyes seem bigger in real life than the photos, is it’s sculpt more dimensional in real life than the photos, is it taller than the height stated by the company, and so on.)

I didn’t pay attention to check wheter sculpt is different in real size than the one stated on Luts website. But I do think my Bory has slightly more mature look on her face. But I guess that’s face up’s work.

Who did the face up? If custom, why did you choose this face up?

I did the face up myself. It’s my Bory’s 2nd face up (previous was also mine, but I didn’t like it at all).
I wanted her to look natural, sad and mature.
That’s why the eyes are in soft colors, eyebrows in ’sad’ shape. And lips are naturally red. She has also a lot of blush on her chicks. I’m especially fond of lots of blush like that, I have no idea why

Where do you get your Bory’s clothes? If bought, are you happy with the selection available for your Bory? If not, what do you wish more for? If you make your Bory’s clothes yourself, is it easy to find material to make clothes for your Bory? Is it difficult or easy to make clothes for a doll this size?

I make all my dolls clothing by myself. And usually sell them later on
I’m a seamstress. I have drawers full of different kinds of fabrics and accessories. Choosing material is not a problem. When I have idea for an outfit, I usually know already what kind of fabric would fit that type of the outfit most.
I must say that sewing for little dolls is more complicated than sewing on SDs. Plus Bory is my first MSD. But I think I got used to it already!

Are you happy with the posing/body/sculpt?(For example, do you wish the doll was taller, more range in joint movements, a smile, and so on.)

She poses like a dream!! I love it!

Body type is sweet as well. Some dolls’ companies don’t pay attention to detail and sculpt of arms, calfs, thighs etc. The sculpt is gorgeous!
There is probably one thing I’d change if it was possible. Her arms are extremy long! When she sits, she can’t place both of her palms on the ground next to her body, because she might lift herself up!
It’s annoying sometimes, but I guess I can get used to it.

Where did you buy your Bory? How long did it take? Why did you choose this purchase method?

I bought my Bory from the Luts website. I know I could’ve gotten him somewhere else, but I knew Luts had what I wanted, so that cut the searching part of the process! It took exactly five weeks for him to arrive from the time I made the order.

Why did you choose Bory?(What factored in your decision to choose it? Like was it it’s skintone, body, posing, and so on?)

I chose Bory because of the mold. I think he has lovely clean lines and I love how he can have an intelligent and haughty expression. I can’t describe the rest of his appeal; it’s just that personal preference that makes you say, “That is such a lovely doll. I MUST have one!”

What parts of your Bory do you find different from the company’s photo’s/information on Bory’s?(For example, do it’s eyes seem bigger in real life than the photos, is it’s sculpt more dimensional in real life than the photos, is it taller than the height stated by the company, and so on.)

My Bory looks everything like the company’s photos, except for the slight variation in the face up; the eyebrows are slight softer in appearance.

Who did the face up? If custom, why did you choose this face up?

I chose the company’s default face up for my Bory. It was precisely the expression I admired on his mold.

I buy his clothes from Dollmore because of the lower prices. Plus, they have a great selection of MSD-sized casual clothing. I’m pretty satisfied when it comes to casual, but I wish there were more dressy clothing available for MSD sized dolls. (Not designed with a ten year-old in mind)

Are you happy with the posing/body/sculpt?(For example, do you wish the doll was taller, more range in joint movements, a smile, and so on.)

I am very happy with my doll’s sculpt!
He is shorter (barely noticeable) than my older Kid Delf Jeong, which kind of thwarted me in the beginning, but I don’t mind now.
He can do his basic poses which, frankly, are all I need. His poses did hold better when he was brand new rather than later, but hot glue sueding made him better than ever.

Where did you buy your Bory? How long did it take? Why did you choose this purchase method?

I got my bory last December from eluts.com. It only took 16 days before I got a shipping notice, I was really surprised! I chose to buy him from the company because I’m wary of buying dolls second hand, I know that if there was a problem with him then the company could fix it for me.

Why did you choose Bory?(What factored in your decision to choose it? Like was it it’s skintone, body, posing, and so on?

I think it was his face, he has this moody, serious expression that I really liked, and he was so cute too!

What parts of your Bory do you find different from the company’s photo’s/information on Bory’s?(For example, do it’s eyes seem bigger in real life than the photos, is it’s sculpt more dimensional in real life than the photos, is it taller than the height stated by the company, and so on.)

He’s pretty much the same as what’s on the site, but cuter in person!

Who did the face up? If custom, why did you choose this face up?

Luts did the face up, and its a custom! I didn’t think they were going to do it, because I ordered well after they made their announcement about no longer doing custom faceups. But I took a chance and sent them a photoshop mock up of what I wanted. They responded to me saying they were sorry but they couldn’t do a custom. However! When I got him, he had the faceup I requested! I don’t know if they decided to do it because it wasn’t very different from the default or maybe they were feeling generous because it was around christmas, but I’m SO grateful they did it. It really makes Dietre feel different and special for me.

I got most of his outfits from Luts too, their quality is good, and the clothes fit perfectly. I have a few things from dollmore, but I find that most msd clothing seems to be on the baggy side. Kid delfs are apparently thin compared to other dolls, so pants tend to be loose around the waist. Buying from luts ensures the clothes will fit! I wish there were more victorian and period style clothing for MSDs, most of the stuff for boys is punky and modern, its really hard to find old fashioned clothes for boy dolls. Its annoying because girl dolls have tons of victorian options to choose from!

Are you happy with the posing/body/sculpt?(For example, do you wish the doll was taller, more range in joint movements, a smile, and so on.)

Dietre is my best poser! He can do very natural poses, and things that my other dolls just can’t. My ONLY problem with his body is his elbows! Kid delfs have some REALLY ugly elbow joints! Its kind of this like…almost rectangle shaped piece that looks really unnatural and I hate it. But its why he can bend his arms so much better than my other dolls, so I kind of have to deal with it. Besides, with long sleeves no one can see them!

Bory Week- Blackraven066 and her twins

Where did you buy your Bory’s?

I bought both my Bory’s direct from Luts

How long did it take?

I can’t remember exactly it was so long ago haha! But if I remember correctly they both stayed within the waiting time of 35-45 days, which was especially good since Archie was a gift for christmas and he was ordered during Lut’s event period and it’s normal that things slow down quite a lot during that time so it was quite a bit touch and go with whether he’d make it for the big day, but he did!

Why did you choose this purchase method?

I went through Luts because I wanted them both to have default face up’s, and plus there were outfits and wigs I wanted form the site so it meant I could get everything at the same time.

Why did you choose to buy two Bory’s and why Bory’s in particular?(Like was it it’s skintone, body, posing, and so on.)

Well, in the beginning I had only intended to have one Bory. I’d instantly fallen in love with the Bory mold when Luts had first released him, I pined over him for half a year while I saved up, but my mum surprised me by saying he’d be my christmas gift!
I never had plans of having twins, but I wanted to get an Msd sized girl since I loved some of the dresses you could get in that size, but there were no girls that I fell in love with as much as the Bory mold, and it was then that I thought it would be a good idea to have twins!
At the time Luts didn’t have the option of having a Bory girl, so I set about making plans of doing a little bit of body swapping to get the girl I wanted and just when I was about to go through with my plans they announced they were releasing a female version. So I thought it was pretty much fate that I was to have her!

What parts of your Bory’s do you find different from the company’s photo’s/information on Bory’s?(For example, do it’s eyes seem bigger in real life than the photos, is it’s sculpt more dimensional in real life than the photos, is it taller than the height stated by the company, and so on.)

The one thing that struck me when I first got Archie was how tiny he was, I’d only ever been around Sd’s and he was my first Msd. I really loved how portable he was compared to the bigger dolls.
I think that the official pictures Luts have don’t really show how much expression the doll has. Just by changing the face up or tilting the head in certain ways changes the expression the doll has greatly!
I also think that the photo’s don’t show you how well the doll’s pose, especially the boy’s.
Apart from that everything was pretty much the same.

Who did the face up? If custom, why did you choose this face up?

I chose to have Lut’s do the face up’s. I’ve got one doll that they painted previously for me and her face up was gorgeous! I’m really amazed by the tiny little details they paint on, like the eyelashes. They must have a super steady hand to get them so thin and perfect. So it was without a doubt that they’d be doing the face up’s for any other dolls I got from them.

Oh! Something I forgot to add on, was that the Bory mold is very versatile!
Lut’s did two completely different face up’s on my pair and when you look at them both they look very different from each other and could quite easily be different mold’s unless you look at them side by side.
Evie’s face up gives her a sad/worried look because of her eyebrows, and Archie normally looks more angry/serious because of his.
The difference in face up’s really helps with showing the difference in their personalities I’ve given them ^^

Where do you get your Bory’s clothes?

It varies, all of the dresses Evie wears are made by my mum. I’m lucky by being able to show her a picture of what I want and she’ll make it for me. Archie’s clothes mostly come from Lut’s or item’s I’ve bought from other doll owner’s who’ve made clothing.

If bought, are you happy with the selection available for your Bory?

There are a huge selection of clothing for that size and you can get some gorgeous outfits for them. These days though I do have to say I try to make before I buy because it means I can make them exactly as I want and it saves my pennies haha!

If not, what do you wish more for?

I’d love to see more period clothing, like Victorian. I think the girls from that period look gorgeous and I’d love a matching period outfit for my pair!

If you make your Bory’s clothes yourself, is it easy to find material to make clothes for your Bory? Is it difficult or easy to make clothes for a doll this size?

I can’t say for sure how easy or difficult it is to make clothes for this size since I sit and watch while my mum sews. My mum has said though that it is a little fiddly sewing things like arm holes on the sewing machine.
All the fabric’s we’ve used so far we’ve scavenged from old items of clothing! One of Evie’s dresses for example was made out of one of my mum’s tops that she kindly donated.
The only time we’ve found it a little tricky to get fabrics is when it’s been floral or had a pattern on it. I’m pretty fussy when it comes to things being in scale to the dolls and it’s been a little hard to find floral patterns that were small enough to work in scale with the doll since most are made to work with human size. Anything thats just a flat colour is very easy to get hold of.

Are you happy with the posing/body/sculpt?(For example, do you wish the doll was taller, more range in joint movements, a smile, and so on.)

I’m extremely happy with the way the doll poses! Especially the boy body. Archie’s gotten quite a name for himself in my local meet up’s I go to because of his crazy posing skills. He’s able to stand on one leg, crouch, lunge, head stand etc. I’ve gotten a great deal of enjoyment out of seeing what poses he can hold.
The girl body however, isn’t as great at posing, which I think is due to the extra rotating thigh joint she has, but I have recently tightened her elastic which has done wonders, and I think sueding her legs would improve her even more.
I do sometimes wish that the knees were double jointed since they only did the elbows which I thought was a little odd.
I’m really happy with the size of the doll, they’re small enough to be able to manage when posing and I find them a lot more fun to take out and about then the bigger versions because they’re lighter and can happily ride in my bag.

Where did you buy your Bory? How long did it take? Why did you choose this purchase method?

I got my Bory from Luts webshop. As I asked for the make up, so it took about 2 months to get my home. It is the easiest and most safe way as you got your doll from their company’s web shop.

Why did you choose Bory?(What factored in your decision to choose it? Like was it it’s skintone, body, posing, and so on?)

The face-up and face mode are so cute and just when I saw him at first time, I fall in love with him. Also, the body is good!

What parts of your Bory do you find different from the company’s photo’s/information on Bory’s?(For example, do it’s eyes seem bigger in real life than the photos, is it’s sculpt more dimensional in real life than the photos, is it taller than the height stated by the company, and so on.)

I haven’t order the same wig and outfit shows on the web togother, but I believe the face-up is the same. But as he is the first doll to me, I just feel he looks smaller then I imaged.

Who did the face up? If custom, why did you choose this face up?

Luts

Where do you get your Bory’s clothes? If bought, are you happy with the selection available for your Bory? If not, what do you wish more for? If you make your Bory’s clothes yourself, is it easy to find material to make clothes for your Bory? Is it difficult or easy to make clothes for a doll this size?

I got clothes from DOD, Luts, HZ, h.NAOTO, Volks, Dollheart, etc. As there are not much chose for msd dolls, and most clothes are made for girls, boys’ clothes are not easy to find. Sometimes I make clothes myself or ask people to make for him. Size is not the big problem, but style is.

Are you happy with the posing/body/sculpt?(For example, do you wish the doll was taller, more range in joint movements, a smile, and so on.)

Yeah, I love the body very much. The body is just the best size I thought. Compare with other doll bodies, SD msd bodies are a bit too fat, minfee are too slim. The joint is good, but maybe if they can double-jointed the knee, that would be even better.
