Here is a review of the A-type body. We just received Tim (YES, Tim doll is heeeere!) and Jason’s body today in the mail at Ling’s house from Kaga. :) ♥ ♥ ♥ Ty actually put him away right away for her trip, but I got weepy and sad so she took him out again.
So here we go. A review. By the way, there are like… no seams on him. And then the seams that ARE on him are very small. Niiice. :D Note the image I left on my computer.
We’re using Jason here. Elliott was packed away, so I didn’t do a comparison– just a review. I’ll do a comparison while I’m in Taiwan. Here’s some music to set the mood.
Really quickly: note how tall Jason and Elliott are when compared to my computer screen. I know the angle is different, but it might give you an idea of the height difference until I’ll be able to get a picture of it.
Double-jointed arms means he can bend his arms in a way that he can touch his nose.
This is the farthest Elliott can bend his arms when he’s not hot-glue sueded (which he isn’t, at the moment). Jason’s not sueded, wired, or anything.
He can’t touch his face at all. Go Elliott, go!
Abs. A-type body has rockin’ abs. I took a lot of pictures of these abs. MUSCLES!
Double-jointed knees. He’s strung really, really tightly so we’re trying to loosen him up. He’s having a hard time looking up, bending his double-joints, and using his hip joints.
He’s wearing these shoes, by the way. He stands fine without them, but the rubber grip KEEPS him standing better. So I put them on as a precaution. Oh, those shoes are actually, um, a little smaller than SD size. So they’re not really MSD shoes. He can wear MSD shoes fine, though. I’ve tried two pairs on him, and they went on really easy since his feet are slimmer.
So, arm stuff.
He can hold his arm up just fine and bend it at partial angles. Wonderful. Wrist movement is fantastic. :)
Bits are nicely sized, which means he looks good in underwear that are not boxers. Thigh joint allows his leg to rotate, so he can do a lot of poses that I would’ve never imagined with Elliott. Oh, and he’s all leg. He’s just a liiiiittle bit longer in the torso, and the rest of the height difference (about an extra inch over Elliott?) is all in the legs.
Sorry that this is out of focus. Small butt, but pert. :D The detail in his back is veeeery nice– it was almost surprising! Elliott’s got none of this.
Thigh joints again. Ahem. There’s really good definition in his legs, but it’s hard to capture with a camera. You can slide your finger down the dips and curves of it, though.
He can do this. Girly yes. But impressive!
Elliott’s attempt.
His arms are strung perfectly, which is why I was so surprised at his legs being so tight. So yeah, he can pose with both arms perfectly.
Bart gets to hitch a ride. Action figure comparison, I guess. XD I know a lot of you guys have action figures in the same scale.
Jason really doesn’t care too much.
Arm poses. When I do stuff like this for Elliott, I have to force it and pop his joints out.
Great detail on the feet!
Kneels easily and is steady. No ugly knee-popping here.
From the side.
A very confident curve of the back.
The Kahn Mystic (Jason) head is actually shorter than the Rei (Tim) head. Rei’s face is also wider. To put the black wig on Jason, I wound like… five rubberbands around his head. Tim only needed one, and the wig still stays on even if I take the bands off. So I’m guessing Kahn Mystic is more like a 6″, while Rei is closer to 7″. Oh yeah, they not only share the body, but they also share that black wig. It’s the only black fiber one we have. We have a black fur one that Elliott started using yesterday and hasn’t stopped wearing it since.
If you extend his mouth a bit with dark paint, he’ll look less “83″ and more calm. Which is more Tim-like. But Ty doesn’t want to do that, so I guess we have “83!!!!” Tim. :( Aww. That’s not very Tim-like at all. It’s a pretty face-up, though. I do like it. I just… wish we could modify it a bit to look more like Tim.
Yes, he’s being ultra-smiley for someone whose two best friends just died in the past year.
The doll-Tim is a Tim-Tim, not Robin-Tim. I hope this makes sense. Tim suffers from the same identity crisis that Bruce suffers (“Am I the cape? Have I lost all sense of my humanity?”), so I guess those two would be really different. So this is off-duty Tim
Yaaay Tim.
On a table. Jason has dark violet eyes, and Tim has dark blue. Kaga sent him with olive-greenish-brown eyes, too.
I haven’t really seen a lot of pictures of Rei yet, and it frustrated me when it came to deciding on if I want him or not. So I kind of vowed to take a lot of photos of the LatiBlues.
Anyways! Some other things: The resin feels grainy. There’s a texture to it, but it’s not a bad texture. It’s just interesting. He’s HEAVY. In fact, he’s probably heavier than Elliott. This makes me happy, though. Even though he’s broader than Elliott in the shoulders, generally he’s skinnier. Just very lanky. Elliott has a big egg-head next to these two, but it looks okay when they stand. Especially when I put Jason/Tim in higher shoes. Then Elliott just looks like a pre-teen next to some teens.
Clothes fit, generally. Outfits that are fitted and don’t stretch WILL go on, but they won’t close. So Elliott’s black dinner jacket from Dollheart? They can wear it, but only if they want to walk around shirtless or if it’s over something else. Pants are too short by about half and inch to an inch depending on how wide the waist area is. I usually just tug it down a bit, though. The legs are long in the calf, so boots that swallowed Elliott’s legs are now just… boots on Jason/Tim.
Posing is great, as you can see. He sits up just fine, despite how the stringing. It takes a while to get used to the joints, though. No torso-joint, which will take a while to get used to. He creaks, but isn’t squeaky. A very solid-feeling doll. I LOVE the detail on him– especially on the face. Their faces have so much depth and they photograph so well. Positioning eyes on them is a little tricky, actually. I think some 10mm might be in order… But 14mm fit! They look decent, and not awful. I put the metallics in Rei’s head, and they looked too dark.
The heads go on with an O-ring, which is sort of cool… but I need to figure it out first. Luckily they came with a manual. There are two little plates on their heads– one of the back near the neck, and one of the inside near the neck joint. For some reason, Kahn Mystic’s embedded metal plate on the back near the neck is like, a third of the size of Rei’s. Huh.
I love Latidoll. So. Much. They make boys.
Feel free to ask any questions. There’s really not enough info on these dolls. :3 I can take more pictures too.
Specs
Tim is a LatiBlue Boy Rei on the A-type body, and Elliott is a Volks Hewitt II MSD Long-Legged Boy. They are 46 cm and 44 cm tall, respectively.
Resin
The LatiBlue boy is new as of the beginning of this year (2007), and second-hand. The Volks is at least a couple of years old– I’m not exactly sure. So he’s yellowed a bit. His hands are new, so that’s the most accurate comparison between his resin and the LatiBlue’s resin. They’re the same shade, but the Volks pureskin is more yellow.
With some blushing (make the head pinker and the body more yellow), it would be harder to tell. The resin has different textures– the Pureskin is positively smooth and slippery in comaparison to the LatiBlue, who has an interesting tooth to it feels grainy. The LatiBlue is drastically heavier than the Volks, but that’s probably due to the height.
Posing
The LatiBlue has more articulation points, and his rougher resin helps him hold poses better. If the Volks was sueded or wired, he could probably hold poses just as well, if not better. But he will not be capable of doing many of the poses the LatiBlue can achieve due to the construction of the joints. The LatiBlue has double-jointed elbows and knees, along with a thigh-joint that allows his leg to rotate independent of the hip joint. He has no torso joint, though, and instead hs a hip joint that allows him to sit up. That is all.
Side-to-side comparison. I tried to move Elliott’s arm out of the way, but it didn’t work too well. As you can see, Tim is much thicker than Elliott in the torso.
Arms down so you can see the dramatic difference in their arm lengths.
Most of the height is in the legs.
To sit the LatiBlue up straight, you have to use his hip-joint and “pop” him up– which also makes him sit a little higher. On Elliott, you just have to learn him forward a little.
Their torsoes are about the same length, but the LatiBlue is a little longer. Shirts tend to come up short, and are snug across the shoulders and chest. It would be best to buy baggy MSD t-shirts for him. I suspect that a tight SD10 shirt might be decent enough, too. But I haven’t tried this yet.
The LatiBlue has longer feet, but they’re thinner too. The very popular MSD Vans fit perfectly on him. The bottom of his feet are slightly flattened, so he stands more solidly.
Note that the Volks is wearing optional hands, and that we couldn’t find his normal hands. The normal hands are thicker and less detailed than these hands. With these optional hands, though, the LatiBlue and the Volks have the same handshape. But the fingers are much, much thinner on the LatiBlue– not to mention his hands are more detailed. He has veins, knuckles, and joints. The ball-joint of the wrist is connected to the hand on the LatiBlue, but seperate on the Volks.
His hand is much thinner and daintier in comparison.
The palms have about the same level of detail.
Wrist joints.
The LatiBlue’s double-jointed knees allow him to kneel without popping his joints out.
Torsos, again. And someone out there is interested in their parts. The LatiBlue boy is longer, but the MSD is bigger. :) The aesthetic detail that went into their bodies is totally different. The Volks MSD can NOT hold his arms flat against his body without bending his elbows, while the LatiBlue can. His arms are also much, much longer.
Once again, different kind of detailing going on. the LatiBlue has thicker upper arms, but his lower arm tapers into a delicate wrist that is much, much smaller than the Volk’s.
Double-jointed knees, and you can see the thigh joints on the LatiBlue.
They can both do this pose, but it’s unnatural for the Volks.
Head-swap! The Volks MSD head miraculously fits– though it wouldn’t hurt to sand the base of the LatiBlue neck a little bit to improve posing. It only looks strange at certain angles, but other than that it’s rather fantastic. The resin match is nicer in real life since the photos on the computer are saturated. Proportion-wise, it’s not bad– but the Volks is a Hewitt, and Hewitts have smaller and older looking faces compared to most Volks MSDs. I suspect that Schulze and Enn would also work well, along with SuperDollfieCute heads. I’d say that the LatiBlue body would be a great candidate for a floating Volks head. Also, the O-ring fits fine in the notch– so no modding needed.
The same cannot be said for the LatiBlue head on the Volks body, though. I wouldn’t… do this. Anyways, now for some photos of the Volks on LatiBlue headswap. Just because it worked out so well. I’m really pleased with how it looks. In fact, Elliott is temporarily taking over Tim’s body. Just because it’s kind of neat to look at.
Thank you, bye!
Specs
Elliott is a Volks Hewitt II MSD Long-Legged Boy, and Kendall is a Angell-Studio F-Nicety Vera girl, Matto’s B-el (who I shall call Matto for the rest of the comparison) is a Unoa B-el Boy, and Tim is a LatiBlue Boy Rei on the A-type body. They are 44 cm, 43 cm, 44.5 cm, and 46 cm tall respectively. The Unoa is a very nice doll, and L-bi is my dream doll. (I’m trading Matto this B-el faceplate for her L-bi faceplate.) Overall, I’m quite satisfied with it, though I’ve been spoiled by other companies when it comes to resin quality and weight, and I’ve grown accustomed to the height and posability of the LatiBlues, so sometimes I feel the Unoa is a bit on the short-side for an older looking mini, and that he can be a bit restricted when it comes to movement.
Resin
Please refer to the LatiBlue vs. Volks MSD comparison and LatiBlue vs. Volks MSD vs. Angell-Studio F-Nicety comparison for their resin differences. Matto is from the one and only Unoa boy preorder about two years back (though the second one is coming up in a few weeks– finally). His resin is lighter than the Pureskin, and is less textured than the Lati resin, but still textured in a similar, speckled manner. It’s shiny in certain parts, and though it’s light and thin in some parts, it feels pretty nice.
Posing
I’ve tried tightening him, but his construction renders him pretty loose despite the tight strining. His posing is nice, but I can understand what people meant when they said that the Unoas may not have a wide range of movements, but do everything with grace. He’s very good at posing in general, but he’s definitely limited when it comes to knee movements and leaning a good amount forward. I haven’t sueded him yet, but I feel there’s a need to because his joints are so slippery. His back piece likes to pop out a lot, and the thigh pieces on his leg appear to be coming loose after these two years of use (I got him second-hand). I’ll need to reglue them with something permanent later, but for now I’m keeping it in with some washable glue.
Front and side-to-side comparison from shortest to tallest: Volks MSD, Angell-Studio F-Nicety, Unoa Boy, and LatiBlue. The resin color is more obvious in photos, but IRL these guys are pretty close– other than Latis being more flushed looking. While the LatiBlues and Unoa are both mature minis, the LatiBlues are HUGE and can wear SD shirts (which is what they wear most of the times), and they burst through the pants meant for the Volks MSD. Meanwhile, the Unoa is too slim for the Volks MSD pants, so they slide off of him with ample room. His upper torso is petite in the same way the F-Nicety is, but he does not have huge cleavage. He is tiny, but still rather masculine and lanky. He’s just a smidge taller than the Long-Leg MSD, and is about the same height as the F-Nicety. The LatiBlue coninues to tower.
The Unoa has a small tuckus compared to the other three. His knees are very pretty, and there is nice detail to his back.
Their hips are just about lined up here. The F-Nicety and Unoa have just baout the same length in the legs, but the Unoa has thicker legs.
Leaning test. The LatiBlue is unable to lean, so he’s been omitted from this section. The Unoa leans decently, but not as expressively or deep as I would prefer. The F-Nicety leans the best.
I pushed the Unoa to lean anymore, and I think I’m using his backpiece wrong at this point. He’s very unstable when forced to lean like that. The backpiece sometimes pops out, which can be quite annoying.
I aligned them at the shoulders so you can see how long their torsos are. The F-Niecety and Unoa are very similar here, too.
Another view of the back, but you can see that the torso joint is at the same spot on the F-Nicety and Unoa. The Unoa has longer thighs, and the F-Nicety has longer calves.
Unoa foot vs. LatiBlue foot.
F-Nicety foot vs. Unoa foot. These two are also much closer in size.
Volks MSD foot vs. Unoa foot. The feet are about the same length, but the Unoa has thinner feet.
Volks MSD hand vs. Unoa hand. About the same level of detail on all of the hands, actually.
The Unoa hands are thinner.
LatiBlue hand vs. Unoa hand. The LatiBlue hand has thinner fingers and palms.
The LatiBlue has less palm definition, but more detail in the bones of the hands.
F-Nicety hand vs. Unoa hand. The F-Nicety has smaller wrists.
Here you can see that the Unoa has longer fingers, too.
Kneeling test. The Unoa sucks at kneeling. He was balancing very precariously, and managed to knock over the other dolls twice. It’s sad when the F-Nicety is better than him at something.
A front view. At least he doesn’t lean to the side when he kneels.
Unoa kneel vs. LatiBlue kneel.
Unoa kneel vs. F-Nicety kneel.
Unoa kneel vs. Volks MSD kneel.
Aligned at the hips. Repetitive, but there are some small differences that some people might be interested in.
Close-ups of definition and arm length.. F-Nicety vs. Unoa vs. LatiBlue. The Unoa has gentle abs. The F-Nicety and LatiBue have longer arms.
Volks MSD vs. Unoa vs. LatiBlue. The Volks MSD has the same arm length as the Unoa.
Matto on Elliott’s body. The neck fits nicely, actually. It just looks terrible, is all. Resin match is nicer in the photos, honestly. The S-hook works on the Unoa.
The Unoa rod doesn’t fit in the Volks head, and I didn’t want to steal the S-hook to try. The size isn’t great, anyways. The head is too big.
Unoa head on the LatiBlue body. A couple of people were requesting this. I have to say– it looks pretty good. The problem is that the neck on the LatiBlue is bigger, so the Unoa head sits higher up and doesn’t look as good that high. The head starts looking weird at certain angles where the thick neck shows more obviously. The headsizes between the two dolls are about the same, though, and they actually look really good next to each other.
Sorry that these started to get really out-of-focus. :( But here, you can see the maximum amount of head tilt before the neck shows.
Couldn’t get the Unoa rod to work on the O-ring slot, so the stringing wire is still there. This actually looks really nice– especially since we used the Rei head, which is more childish looking than the Rucas or Kahn head. It takes a little getting used to, but if one wanted a shorter LatiBlue boy, this would work. The head just needs to be blushed pinker to match the body.
The hybrids together.
Wigs and sitting. The photo hides the difference, for some weird reason. It’s not too bad IRL, either. They look pretty good together, though the LatiBlue head on Unoa body hybrid looks better than the B-el head on LatiBlue hybrid. The latter isn’t a bad hybrid, though.
The awkward overtilting that shows the neck.
Not bad at all.
Hope you enjoyed. See you. :)
Specs
Tim is a LatiBlue Boy Rei on the A-type body, Elliott is a Volks Hewitt II MSD Long-Legged Boy, and Kendall is a Angell-Studio F-Nicety Vera girl. They are 46 cm, 44 cm, and 43 cm tall respectively.
Resin
Please refer to the LatiBlue vs. Volks MSD comparison for their resin difference. The Vera that we have is URETHANE normal skin– not French resin. We specifically asked for urethane instead of the French resin, and they emailed us back with confirmation. Thus we do not know what their French resin is like– but despite the material, their resin colors should be the same as they had the same categories for resin color. The Angell-Studio urethane normal is more yellow than Volks. Their heads are lighter than the body, for some reason. So the body is a pretty good match for Volks, but the heads are not a good match for Volks. It doesn’t match Lati at all, but appears relatively doable.
Please note the material, because French resin is more matte and has a stronger tooth to it– which results in better posing. Vera’s posing as a urethane doll is less than satisfactory. Though she is capable of holding many nice poses, her joints are basically useless and her knee joints are hell. Other than that, the urethane is nice but extremely smooth. Not shiny, though. Just almost as smooth as our very, very old Volks MSD.
Her breasts are the only things that are blushed. We had ordered during the promotion period, but did not get any of the promotional gifts (free face-up along with a goody bag).
Posing
It went hand and hand with the resin material, so please refer to that section for the posing information on the F-Nicety.
Side-to-side comparison shows that the F-Nicety is not skinnier than the Volks when it comes to profile– she has a very deep waist, though. That’s where the steep difference in their comparison comes from. Standing her is, well, a bitch. The knee construction is annoying and finicky, and there’s little to no friction in her joints. The one who poses the best is the LatiBlue.
I just realized yesterday that the LatiBlue’s butt is clenched. :) Anyways, the one with the least amount of detail in the back is the F-Nicety. Her torso joint is cut right under the ribs, so it’s a little high. It’s extremely slippery and has no room for subtle movements. Lots of “snapping,” and it’s bitten me many times. Ow.
By the way, the F-Nicety is about a centimeter taller than the Volks. Which means the Volks measurements are wrong…? I’ve measured him, and he’s more of a 42 cm even though he’s supposed to be 44 cm. It’s kind of frustrating. Anyways, she has the second longest legs, but the shortest torso. Her lower leg is about the same length of the LatiBlue’s– his thighs are just longer.
Another view. Note how she slouches to the left. That’s from loose stringing. I’m in the process of trying to figure out how to string her, since the S-hooks in her feet are… are strange.
Who slouches better? The LatiBlue can not slouch, so he wasn’t included here. The F-Nicety slouches the best, and the Volks can’t… really slouch unless he’s sueded or wired.
GAPING HOLE. She doesn’t have the extra piece of resin in her torso joint that constrict the elastic for better posability– which is something most MSDs with a torso joint have.
I aligned them at the shoulders so you can see how long their torsos are.
Knee and arm joints from the back. The F-Nicety’s knees are best described as… knobby? Her legs also like to twist inwards. The knee construction isn’t terribly pretty and it looks like she’s always kind of crouching– it’s worse on the F-Nicety boys.
Volks MSD foot vs. F-Nicety foot.
LatiBlue foot vs. F-Nicety foot. They’re very similar, just the F-nicety foot is smaller.
Hands. Her fingers are about as thin as the LatiBlue’s. The Volks hands are starting to look like bananas!
No palm detail on the F-Nicety, actually.
Her fingernails are nice and pointy, and her hand isn’t as thin as the LatiBlue’s. By the way, the LatiBlue would not touch her hand. It was kind of weird. I ended up having to rotate him and all this other crap to get him to force his arm out. Useless information, but kind of fun. Maybe Tim’s scared of girls? Oh wait, he is. That’s canon in comicverse– before OYL. Gah.
Kneeling! They all kneel really nicely, with the double-joints making the LatiBlue the most stable. Being super floppy, the F-Nicety was a big of a struggle.
She’s still kind of leaning.
Different kind of knee construction.
Weird looking! Kind of jagged and pointy. I don’t think she could kneel in pants, due to this construction.
Ooh double-joints. I forgot to do a swarrico pose, by the way. They can all do it, and the F-Nicety does it well due to her inward-turning legs and floppiness. She did it many times by accident and nearly knocked over the other dolls. :( By the by, it’s not that I don’t like her. She’s cute. She’s just frustrating to pose.
Feet aligned! Sort… of.
Another close-up.
The LatiBlue’s arm is about the same length as the F-Nicety’s. His is a little longer, but just barely.
Headswap! Did I mention we had TWO Veras? Yeah, that made this kind of easy. So, left to right: LatiBlue Rei head on F-Nicety body, Vera head on LatiBlue body, Volks Hewitt head on F-Nicety body, and Vera head on Volks body. The knot for the F-Niceties is really, really weird. There are two thick knots, which made it impossible to pull the s-hook through the LatiBlue’s neckhole. This could be solved with LESS KNOTS, and maybe thinner elastic.
The Vera head won’t go on the LatiBlue head at all beacuse the neck-joint is too big, and the O-ring is too big to go through the neckhole. The Volks head fit nicely, but was a little loose. It looks kind of bobble-headed at first, but you get used to it. The Vera head fits the Volks, but since it’s lighter than it’s own body– yeah. Resin color is off.
Tim makes a surprisingly nice girl. You can see that the floppiness leads to some very nice poses, but it’s definitely not safe to leave these dolls standing. Their standing ability is just too damn shoddy.
The resin difference isn’t too bad in real life, but these saturated photos make it look really bad. As a note, these pictures are really yellow because I started taking the pictures in early evening and didn’t adjust the white balance. The first photo on this page is the best picture of their resin differences, and as you can see there it’s not half-bad.
Delicate sitting poses. :) They can also lean back on their elbows, which is really cool.
Leaning forward.
Elliott makes… an interesting girl…
More masculine poses! It looks pretty nice. So now there are three versions of Elliott! Fat (normal) Elliott, abtastic (LatiBlue) Elliott, and creepy girl (F-Nicety) Elliott.
Tim in the back.
The power of focus!
He looks so… maternal?
I, uh, wouldn’t suggest doing this either. They have other resin colors by the way, but I know nothing about them. Anyways, thanks again! Bye!
I wanted to add a bit of an oomph to an old wig that I have. So I decided to lightly curl it.
The wig that I’m starting out with is a long haired monique wig that my sister trimmed.
It’s not bad but I didn’t like how flat it looked.
So I decided to lightly curl it, and here are the results:
As you can see it’s not a big difference. I just wanted the hair to look fuller and less flat on the head. Before the curling, the old wig was essentially a junk wig because the flatness always bugged me. With the new change, it looks more lively and now I have another wig for my doll to wear.
For the materials I used:
-old monique wig
-human hair conditioner
-bobby pins
-straws
-scissors
-a bottle for the wig to sit on
First I heated the water up:
Then I rinsed the wig under the hot faucet water(depending on how hot your faucet is, it may not be a good idea to rinse the wig with your hand):
Then I applied some conditioner to the wig:
Rinsed the wig again:
Placed it on a bottle:
Didn’t like the bottle so I switched to a water bottle:
Now I took a straw:
I placed the straw against the length of hair that I planned to roll.
This way I could determine how long of a cut I needed for the straw.
The hair is then rolled around the straw and secured by a bobby pin:

Doll wigs are made in layers, so I recommend curling the hair according to the natural layers of the wig:
I roll up the rest of the hair:
At this point if you want curlier curls, I would recommend either putting the wig under hot faucet water again or pouring boiling/microwaved water over the wig. Since I wanted my wig to be lightly curled, the conditioned wet state of the wig will do the job.
I then set the wig to dry overnight.
Next morning, I woke up and this was the result:
I am very happy with the result so I would recommend people to do this if you want to make your wig look fuller.
I’m kinda tempted to try curling it again with toothpicks and boiling water just to see how curly it can get so I may do another review with tighter curls.
Thank you for reading and I hope this review was helpful!
Have you had any experiences with lightly curling a wig? How were your results?
Elliott is strung tight, because when we were stringing him my sister agreed that we would prefer for Elliott to be able to sit and stand without effort, rather than have him do back-flips on the carpet. So he’s very stable when he stands, as he’s not so loose that a joint will slip. But since he’s tightly strung and his joints are very smooth, he poses pretty damn awful. Like… really, really awful.
He can’t do subtle arm movements since his arms snap into either the locked position or the straight-out position. Same goes for his legs. He can’t lean down because his legs will slip out of the hip joint, causing him to tumble. It’s pretty pathetic, really.
AWESOME.
Elliott stands very quickly, so I can just plunk him down and walk away. There’s really no danger of falling. He used to fall more when his elastic was tighter.
He can hold his arms up and they won’t fall.
He can’t bend his arms to ninety degree angles. That’s the farthest they go.
Can’t touch his face.
This is the highest he can hold his arms up in front of him.
He can’t touch his butt, but he can touch his hips.
He can sit. I’ve heard of some dolls who can’t sit. D,:
But he’ll lean back if I don’t push him forward…
Like this.
Legs bent. They can’t be half-up or anything. They’re either bent like that, or straight.
One leg up, straight out.
Both of them up, straight out.
His legs are strung a little uneven, so he can only cross his angles in one direction.
Crossing his leg means popping his joint out of the socket.
Sorry about the twisted foot. He’s better at crossing with that leg.
Kind of gross-looking without clothes on… but he can do this when you pop the joint out.
Aw man, blurry. Anyways… he can kneel, but not actually sit on his haunches unless I twist his foot and set the heel of it into the middle of his butt.
You can force him into this pose, which is what one of Ty’s friends does whenever she gets to hold Elliott.
One leg up. He needs to have his hand against something to do this.
Fold over.
Streeetch. His arms are only bending slightly because they’re stopped by his big head.
He can hold his legs up.
Half-bent, only one of them stays up all the way.
More joint popping.
The only way he can bend down.
The magic! It is gone!
He can stand with his legs together.
This is the farthest his torso joint will let him move to the left.
It moves a little better to the right. I could force it to go farther, like I can do with any of his joints, it’s just that there’s no friction to hold it there, so it just slides back (sometimes violently so).
This is as far as he can bend forward. He can’t stand like this alone because it’s too heavy, so I had to set his hand on my speaker for some support.
Farthest he can bend back…
AND THEN WE SUEDED HIM WITH HOT-GLUE! It took about twenty minutes and a bunch of tries. I got burned not from the glue, but from the glue gun’s nozzle poking me in the arm. Ow.
Ooh what’s this? Is this some subtle movement you couldn’t do before? His arm is forward just a little bit and is sliiiightly bent. The other one is behind him a little. Right foot forward, left foot back and slightly bent. AMAZING! Also, sorry about his face. I wasn’t paying attention to his face at the moment.
And he’s leaning back, too!
You can see the “MOST AMAZING POSES” thread in the back– which is what persuaded my sister to hot-glue suede him. Anyways… Elliott. Leaning forward. Left-leg bent very softly, right leg tilted, arms are a little back, and his torso joint is bent back while his bottom piece is downwards.
You can see is better here. He is CURVACIOUS.
Leg bendiness.
Whoooa he can hold his arms out like that now and they won’t flop down. D,:
This made me really happy.
TOUCH YOUR FACE.
When before his arm was too heavy for the loose joint to hold it… it now stays!
Whoop whoop. More leg twisting, torso tilt, and all this good stuff and natural movement. He looks so fluid.
THIS POSE. GAH. So much awesome. His movements look so humanly sincere now.
It also makes him look curvacious.
And a slightly different version where he’s sitting up straighter.
Sitting, tilting, arms up. D,: ♥ ♥ ♥ He almost looks like he just flopped down to sit and crossed his legs messily.
Other way!
Pants keep his leg joint from popping out of the hip socket all the way, so he can do more poses. Half-way up!
I’m not even sure how to describe this other than “AWESOME” and “D-D-D-D-D-DRAMA.”
Oooh bending forward and touching his face.
And he’s doing it on a chair!
Arms wrapped around chair, one leg on the chair and the other on the ground. Usually he would just… fall off.
D,: One leg up, the other down. And his arms around the one that’s up. So cool!
He still needs a bath. Check out those gross hands.
I’m going to bathe Elliott now.
… Yeah. :D This is cool.
